Open Doors Youth Service (ODYS) was created by community for community 25 years ago and remains Queensland’s only dedicated LGBTIQ+ Sistergirl & Brotherboy (LGBTQIASB+) youth service. ODYS supports LGBTQIASB+ young people aged 12 to 24 and is dedicated to:
At ODYS, we’re here for you. Whether you’re looking for a safe space to connect with other LGBTQIASB+ young people, seeking guidance from someone who truly understands, or in need of counselling – we’ve got your back.
Our social groups are a place to meet other queer and gender diverse young people, share experiences, and build your community. If you’re going through something tough or just need someone to talk to, our one-on-one support with lived experience youth workers can help. We’re also proud to offer a free, affirming counselling service to help you navigate life’s challenges.
Connect with peers, build a community of support and find a place where you belong at our social groups.
Need some one on one support? Our dedicated team of lived experience youth workers are here to help!
Life can be challenging, which is why we offer a free counselling service to help you navigate the tough bits.
Our parents & carers group offers a safe place to learn how to best support your LGBTQIASB+ young person.
Our mission is to provide LGBTQIASB+ young people with access to appropriate and safe supports, that builds their resilience, strengthens their identity, and provides them with community.
Our vision is a world where all young people live authentically and unapologetically, free from the fear of violence, discrimination, and isolation.
Open Doors Youth Service Inc. acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First people and Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters where we meet, live, learn and work.
